CORBAN: The defending NAIA National Invitational Champions bring a 5-2 record into the week. They are still ranked No. 1 in the nation, and have picked up wins against the other two "Cascade Conference" schools (Northwest and Southern Oregon). They also have a big 3-2 win over NCAA Division I University of Utah.

The Warriors are 10-0 all-time against the Beacons, having faced each other nine times during the regular-season in 2022. Corban defeated Bushnell as well, during pool play at the CalPac Tournament, 4-1.

UNIVERSITY OF PORTLAND: Bushnell will roll it twice with the Pilots on Saturday, hosted by Corban. Portland is 1-4 on the season with their win coming 3-2 against the University of the Pacific.

The Beacons are 0-3 all-time against the Pilots after falling to them three times last season.

SOUTHERN OREGON: The Raiders, playing in their inaugural season, have built a 2-3 record heading into Sunday's matchup with the Beacons. They have defeated Northwest University twice. Bushnell has defeated SOU twice thus far with a pair of 4-1 wins.

The Bushnell Esports spring season continues as Rocket League, Overwatch 2 and Valorant continue league play. Valorant earned their first win of the spring last week, defeating George Fox, 2-1, in the best-of-three match.

Rocket League concludes the NACE season with a doubleheader, taking on Stone Child College and Colorado College on Monday.

After picking up their first CCC win of the season, the Beacons (4-13, 1-5 CCC) will look to grab two more as they travel to Salem to take on rival Corban University on Wednesday.

LAST WEEK: Bushnell hosted the University of British Columbia last weekend with the visitors taking the series, 2-1. The Beacons picked up their first conference win in Saturday's opener, claiming a dramatic 4-3 win in eight innings.

CCC RANKINGS: The Beacons are currently eighth in the CCC for batting average (.235) and seventh for ERA (5.71).
Madison Steelman currently ranks fifth in the conference for home runs (3) and triples (2).

CORBAN: The Warriors (2-13, 1-5 CCC) have picked up two wins this season, one against Menlo College (2-12) and one against Northwest University.

Corban is currently ranked ninth in the CCC in hitting with a .214 batting average. They are tenth in the conference for ERA (8.23) and teams are hitting .379 against them.

Morgan Gleeson leads the offense, hitting .371 with six extra base hits and nine RBI. Jody Fischer has been productive with a .311 average, leading the team with 14 hits, 12 runs, and ten stolen bases on ten attempts.

Emmaleena Wood is 0-2 in the circle, but leads the team with a 4.12 ERA.

Bushnell (9-5) hosts Oregon Tech this weekend for a three-game series. The series was moved to Springfield due to the snowfall in Klamath Falls. The Beacons and Owls will play one game on Friday followed by a doubleheader on Saturday.

LAST WEEK: The Beacons won three of four games against Corban, falling in the opener, 6-1, before winning the next three. Game two was highlighted by a walk-off two-run double by
Jacob Stoner, giving the Beacons an 8-7 victory and a Friday split.

Ethan Paulson got Bushnell off to a strong start on Saturday, giving up just one run in his five-inning outing, as the Beacons came away with an 8-5 win. Six Beacons had a multi-hit game as the team finished with 16 in an 11-6 game four victory.

CCC RANKINGS: Bushnell is third in the conference in both batting average (.297) and ERA (5.09). The Beacons are tied with Lewis-Clark State College for first in fielding percentage, holding a .974 mark through 14 games.

Cayden Delozier leads the conference in batting average (.408) after hitting 7-for-14 over the weekend. Delozier also holds the top spot in on-base percentage (.524).
Ethan Stacy (.382) ranks sixth in batting, while
Brandon Reed (.355) is 10
th. As a team, Bushnell has eight batters hitting over .300.

OREGON TECH: The Owls (12-7) split their series with the University of British Columbia, winning 9-5 and 10-2 on Sunday before falling 10-0 and 4-3 on Monday. As a team, Oregon Tech ranks fifth in the CCC in batting average (.257), second in ERA (4.59) and fourth in fielding percentage (.957).

Lalo Barraza (4-1), Patrick Arman (3-1) and Brandan Talonen (2-1) lead the Owl starting pitchers. Barraza holds a 4.50 ERA through five starts, while Arman has recorded a 4.38 ERA. Talonen has posted a 2.79 ERA through four starts.

The 2023 Outdoor season begins in earnest this weekend as the Beacons will compete in Eugene for the first time at the LCC Open hosted by Lane Community College. A large roster is due to participate.

The Bushnell golf team competes in their first official tournament of the spring, Battle at the Bar Run, hosted by Southern Oregon in Roseburg on Monday and Tuesday. The 36-hole event will be one round per day. Â
