Box Score 2 SPRINGFIELD, Ore. –  Bushnell University grabbed a pair of wins in its Cascade Collegiate Conference opener, holding Eastern Oregon to two runs with 4-2 and 10-0 victories on Friday at the Hamlin Sports Complex.

The Bushnell (14-9, 2-0 CCC) pitching staff combined for 25 strikeouts on the day, beginning with
Ethan Sachs on the mound in game one. Sachs went seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits, before
Daniel Furman finished off the contest, striking out four to record the save.

Jahshua Yacapin (4 IP),
Kai Keamo (3 IP) and
Blake Stavros (1 IP) combined for the shutout in game two as the Beacons ended the game via run-rule in the eighth inning. The trio combined for 13 strikeouts with six coming from Yacapin, who got the start.

Cade Crist picked up four hits, three via home runs, to tally six RBI on the day.
Cayden Delozier also recorded a four-hit day, going 4-for-7 at the plate with a go-ahead two-run homer in the opener.

Eastern Oregon drops to 1-21 overall and 0-6 in conference action.

The Beacons recorded just four hits in the opener, but it was enough to pick up their first conference win of the season. Sachs (1-2) posted his first pitching win on the mound in a strong seven-inning outing.

After a quick three scoreless innings, the Mountaineers got on the scoreboard with a solo homer from Mario Landeros in the fourth and Justin Duso in the fifth. The Beacons got one back in the bottom of the fifth on a sacrifice fly from
Jacob Richardson.

Crist got his first homer of the day in the sixth, a shot over the center field fence to tie the game at 2-2. Delozier tallied the go-ahead runs with a two-run homer to left to seal the 4-2 opener.

Youhyeon Choi led the Mounties with three hits.

Game 2: Bushnell 10, Eastern Oregon 0 (8 innings)

Crist went 3-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI in Friday's second game.
Peyton Hino hit 2-for-3 with three runs scored, while Delozier,
Ethan Stacy and
Noah Montoya added two hits apiece. The Beacons struck out just three times.

The scoring got started with a solo shot from Crist that carried over the left field wall in the bottom of the first. The Beacons added three more in the second, all with two outs, to go up 4-0.

The Mountaineers threated in the fourth, leading off the frame with a double and walk before getting a runner to third with a sacrifice bunt. Yacapin worked his way out of the inning, forcing a shallow flyout before ending the inning with a strikeout.

A four-run bottom of the sixth put Bushnell up 8-0.
Jordan Wilson drove in two with a single to left and Crist brought in the next two with another home run to left.

Bushnell scored on an error in the seventh before Hino ended the game with a sacrifice fly in the eighth.

The Beacons and Mountaineers finish the series with a doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m.
