Bushnell Valorant concludes the regular season with a match against Neumont College. Overwatch 2 wrapped up the regular season on Tuesday with a win, placing them in a tie for fourth in the conference standings. Both Valorant and Overwatch 2 will play in the Round of 6 next week for the first round of the playoffs.

Bushnell (12-9) opens Cascade Collegiate Conference play this weekend, hosting Eastern Oregon in a four-game series.

LAST WEEK: The Beacons went 1-3, falling to NCAA Division II Western Oregon University in a mid-week contest before dropping two of three games with NCAA Division III Lewis & Clark College. Â

The weekend was highlighted by a walk-off three-run homer by
Jordan Wilson in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Beacons to a 6-3 game two victory. Unfortunately for the Beacons, the Pioneers got their revenge in Sunday's finale in Portland, walking it off with a homer of their own to take the series. Â Â

CCC RANKINGS: Bushnell is fourth in the conference in batting average (.281) and third in ERA (4.73). The Beacons lead the conference in fielding percentage, holding a .972 mark through 21 games.

Cayden Delozier is sixth in the conference in batting average (.387), fourth in doubles (8), and has recorded a hit in all but three games. Delozier held a 10-game hit streak this season, tying
Jeff Fripp's record from last year.
Ethan Stacy is second on the team in batting, holding a .349 average on the season.

Adam Sabatino ranks fourth in the conference in ERA, holding a 3.14 mark through six starts.
Ethan Sachs is fifth in the CCC with a 3.73 ERA and 29 strikeouts (7
th) through six starts.

EASTERN OREGON: The Mountaineers (1-19, 0-4 CCC) opened conference action against Oregon Tech, falling in all four to the Owls. EOU ranks last in the CCC in batting with a .207 average and is sixth in pitching with a 7.87 ERA.

EOU is led by Rogelio Gonzalez, who is hitting .370 with 20 hits on the year. Mario Landeros is batting .333 with eight RBI through 16 games. Shane Sinclair leads the pitching staff with a 3.86 ERA in five starts.

The Beacons and Mountaineers are 2-2 in the all-time series, splitting last year's contests in La Grande.

The Beacons (4-19, 1-10 CCC) look to bounce back after a sweep at No. 25 Eastern Oregon with a four-game homestand against The University of Providence (1-14, 1-8).

LAST WEEK: Bushnell traveled to La Grande and came back with four tough losses to No. 25 Eastern Oregon University. They put together a strong showing in the fourth game of the series, losing 10-7 after out-hitting the Mounties 9-6. Junior
Faith Wayman went 3-for-4 in the game and hit her second career home run while senior
Krystal Akagi blasted the first dinger of her career. Â

CCC RANKINGS: Bushnell is currently ranked ninth in the CCC for batting average (.231) and ERA (7.58). The rank seventh for fielding percentage at .946.

PROVIDENCE: The Argos come into the weekend after picking up their first victory of the season in game three against British Columbia. Providence ranks tenth in the conference for hitting (.228) and pitching (9.26 ERA). They are last defensively with a .929 fielding percentage.

Macy Mangold leads the offense, hitting .400 with 16 hits. Taylor Mathews is hitting .327 and leads the team with seven runs and seven extra-base hits. Deven Creech (1-2) has been the most consistent pitcher for the Argos, striking out 17 batters in 33.2 innings, mostly in relief.

Bushnell holds a 12-8 record all-time against Providence, winning six straight. Last season the Beacons swept the four-game series, also at home, with two five-inning run-rule victories mixed in.Â

LAST WEEK: Bushnell split their time between the Lewis & Clark Open and the Oregon Preview, with multiple personal records being set.
Nathan Fields improved his school-record in the triple jump to 14.22 meters (36'8"). He is currently ranked No. 1 in the conference and seventh in the NAIA in the event.

THIS WEEK: The Beacons are slated for a big weekend in Salem as they compete at the Willamette Invitational.

BEACH VOLLEYBALL
Saturday 3/25 vs. Northwest (at Corban) 4:00 pm

Bushnell (6-8) will close out the regular season this weekend, facing off with Northwest (2-7) in Salem at the Corban tournament.

LAST WEEK: After dropping their first three matches, Bushnell bounced back with a convincing 4-1 win over Southern Oregon to close out the Beacon Beach Invitational. Two of their losses, both to NU, came with 2022 All-Cal Pac stand out
Halle Neumann sitting out. She returned to put the Beacons at full strength against SOU. Â

NAIA OUTLOOK: In the latest NAIA National Coaches Poll, the Beacons are once again receiving votes. Â Bushnell received 17 points, their highest total in four different trips to the receiving votes category over the past two seasons. The last appearance was in the March 2, 2022 poll where they received six points.

Others in the national rankings from the Cascade Conference/California Pacific Conference grouping are No.1 ranked Corban University, No. 3 Westcliff, and No. 9 Saint Katherine. Park University-Gilbert is also receiving votes behind the Beacons.
