Richards Leads Beacons in Week Two

EUGENE, Ore./PORTLAND, Ore.  – Bushnell added to their CCC roster on Saturday as they competed at both the Oregon Preview and the Lewis & Clark Open.

Already a conference qualifier, freshman Jermaine Richards (pictured) posted the best Bushnell high jump mark in a decade, clearing 1.85 meters (6'0.75"), and taking his first stab at the 1.90m school record which has been held by Randy Salsedo since 2013.

The dynamic sprinting duo of freshman Isaiah Davis and Jaron Carter continued to impress. Having previously qualified for conference in the 100m, the pair added a 200m qualification on Saturday. Davis ran a 22.28 while Carter came across at 22.70.

Davis also improved his 100m time from a week ago, running a 10.80 for the third-fastest time in school history and a new freshman record.

Other highlights for the Beacons:

Freshman Jah'Lin Green was one of ten Beacons to post improved times or marks over the first week of the season.
Junior Malachi Muhic, a three-year men's baskeball player for the Beacons, made his Bushnell track & field debut in the 1500m.
Santiago Galindo posted a lifetime best mark in the Discus.

Bushnell returns to action next weekend, traveling to Salem to compete at the Willamette Invitational.
