SALEM, Ore.  – The Bushnell Beach Volleyball team took two sets from Corban University for the first time this season, but still fell in both matches of a double-header with the top-ranked team in the NAIA.

Madi Trueblood and Roslyn McLellan (pictured) provided a spark for the Beacons in the first match as they claimed their first set over the Keeling sisters at the No. 2 pairing. It was the first set win ever for either player against the Warriors.

Makenna Northern and Logan Kaneshiro gave Bushnell some hope in their No. 1 pair match up with Avari Ridgeway and Megan Dennis as they fought to take set two, 21-19. Brooke Silvernail and Jadeya Hayes also had early leads in both of their sets before falling to Jessica McMillian and Ally Schmidt.
 
The Beacons will come back to Eugene to host a tournament this weekend at the Churchill HS sand courts. Bushnell will face off against Corban for the last time in the regular season, at 10:00 am on Friday. Then at 2:00 pm they play Northwest University. On Saturday, the take on Northwest against at 2:00 pm, followed by Southern Oregon University at 4:00 pm.
