The Bushnell women's basketball team enters conference play on a four-game winning streak, defeating three Northwest Conference opponents and Jessup University (Calif.) during the non-conference slate. The Beacons open Cascade Collegiate Conference action on the road at Warner Pacific University and Multnomah University.
 
CONFERENCE OUTLOOK: The Beacons, who took fifth in the CCC last season, were once again picked to finish fifth in the CCC preseason Coaches Poll. Three CCC teams are on the latest NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll, led by Lewis-Clark State at No. 8. Eastern Oregon is ranked No. 18 and Southern Oregon is No. 21.
 
The Beacons are currently ranked seventh in the CCC in scoring, averaging 61.7 points per game. On defense, Bushnell is sixth, allowing 58.3 ppg, while holding opponents to 25.5% from three-point range.  The team is third in field goal percentage, and second in three-point shooting, hitting .330 from deep. The Beacons rank 11th in the CCC in rebounds per game (31.8).
 
Individually, Aspen Slifka is currently 10th in the CCC in scoring (14.5 ppg) and Libby Mathis is seventh in rebounding with 8.2 per game. Mathis also ranks ninth in field-goal percentage, shooting 52.5% on the year. Mandy Sisul, who recently returned from injury, is shooting a conference-leading 8-for-10 from three-point range on the season.  
 
WARNER PACIFIC: The Knights, picked to finish 12th in the CCC, are 2-1 on the season, grabbing wins over Pacific Lutheran University and Multnomah University. WPU defeated the Lions, 72-60, in their conference opener on Nov. 21.  
 
Warner Pacific is currently eighth in the CCC in scoring (61.3 ppg) but are fourth defensively, allowing 57.0 points per game. McKeeley Tonkin leads the Knights in scoring (11.3 ppg) and rebounding (7.7 rpg).
 
Bushnell holds a 21-16 advantage in the series and has won six of the last eight. The Beacons earned a 74-62 win in Eugene last season before a 72-50 victory in Portland.
 
MULTNOMAH: The Lions, who are predicted to tie for 10th in the CCC, are off to a 2-3 start to their season, falling to Warner Pacific in their conference opener. Multnomah ranks third in the conference is scoring, averaging 74.0 points per game and are eighth defensively, allowing 67.0 points per contest.
 
The Lions lead the CCC in free throw percentage, making 82.1% on the year. Savannah Huerta leads the team in scoring and ranks second in the conference with 19.5 points per game.
 
Bushnell holds a 15-2 advantage in the series and have won eight straight. The Beacons came away with 85-55 and 73-54 wins in last season's matchups.

After a 13-day layoff, the Bushnell men's basketball team will be back in action this weekend, opening Cascade Collegiate Conference action on the road against Warner Pacific University and Multnomah University.
 
CONFERENCE OUTLOOK: The Beacons, who took eighth in the CCC last season, were picked to take sixth-place in the CCC preseason Coaches Poll. The second edition of the NAIA Men's Basketball Coaches' Poll was released on Wednesday with College of Idaho leading the CCC teams at No. 2. The Yotes fell from the top spot for the first time since last December. Oregon Tech is receiving votes.
 
The Beacons are currently ranked No. 2 in the CCC in scoring, averaging 85.2 points per game. On defense, however, Bushnell is 12th, allowing 84.5 ppg. The team is third for field goal and free-throw percentage, and lead the league in three-point shooting, hitting .390 from deep. The Beacons are also second in the CCC in assists (16.7 a/g) and lead the conference with a 1.5 assist-to-turnover ratio.
 
Individually, Spencer Hoffman is currently ninth in the CCC in scoring (16.2 ppg) and leads the conference with 9.7 rebounds per game. Alexis Angeles is third in the CCC with 4.0 assists per game and Tony Frohlich-Fair is third in steals with 1.8 per contest.
 
WARNER PACIFIC: The Knights, picked to finish eighth in the CCC, are off to a 2-4 start to the season and come in riding a four-game losing streak, including three straight by three or fewer points. They lost to Multnomah last week, 78-75, in their conference opener.  
 
Warner Pacific is currently sixth in the CCC in scoring (77.2 ppg) and ninth defensively, allowing 80.6 points per game. Matt Solomon, a junior transfer from NCAA Division I Binghamton University, leads the conference in scoring, averaging 22 points per game.
 
The Knights hold a 39-16 advantage in the series, dating back to 1985. The teams are tied 5-5 over their previous ten meetings and split their home-and-home series last year with each team claiming a victory in the other team's arena.
 
MULTNOMAH: The Lions are off to a 4-1 start to their season including a win over Warner Pacific in their CCC opener. MU's hot start includes a CCC-leading 86.4 points per game. They are eighth defensively, allowing 80.4 ppg.
 
The Lions have four players averaging double-digits, led by Kadeem Nelson at 17 points per game. Tyrese Taylor is scoring 16.8 ppg and is second in the CCC in rebounding with 9.4 boards per game.
 
Dating back to 2005, the Beacons hold a 17-5 advantage in the series. The Lions, however, have won three of the last four including a season sweep last year.
