Raiders Shut Out Beacons in Regular Season Finale

ASHLAND, Ore.  – Southern Oregon University shut out the visiting Bushnell University women's soccer team in Thursday's Cascade Collegiate Conference regular season finale.

Bushnell (5-7-3, 4-5-3 CCC), who had already clinched a spot in the CCC Tournament, will be the eight-seed, taking on top-seeded College of Idaho in the quarterfinal round. Southern Oregon (8-6-4, 5-3-4) earns the seven-seed and a matchup with the two-seed, Carroll College.

SOU's two goals were the most any opponent has scored against Bushnell since the opening game of conference play. The Beacons held 10 of 12 conference opponents to no more than one goal.

The Raiders held the Beacons to just four shots on the contest, one on goal, and took 15 of their own. Iniana Hammond scored the early 12th-minute goal before Emily Hyde made it a 2-0 lead in the 68th minute. Brooklyn Hayes led the team with four shots.

Sara Hart took two shots to lead the Beacons and the only attempt on frame. Lexi Bates finished with six saves.

Up next, Bushnell hosts top-seeded and 15th-ranked College of Idaho, the CCC regular season champions, on Monday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m for the quarterfinal round. The Yotes bring in a 16-1-1 overall record and 12-0 mark in conference play. The Beacons fell 1-0 to the Yotes in the regular season match.
