PORTLAND, Ore. – Junior
Makenna Mosher hit .900 with nine kills to lead the Bushnell Beacons to a sweep over Multnomah University on Saturday night, 25-19, 25-14, 25-20.

Bushnell (10-6, 8-4) hit .341 as a team, their best attacking effort of the season, giving them back-to-back night hitting over .300.

Mosher said, "Tonight we all played our roles really well. The setters did a great job moving the ball around and our defense was on point. We had high energy, played with heart and did it for each other."

Halle Neumann and
Amyah Semau recorded eight kills apiece with Semau adding a team-high 12 digs. Neumann hit .571 on the night.

Katie Belitz and
Elijah Sanders both finished with 16 assists. Belitz said, "We all did our jobs well tonight and really played as a team. We played consistent with low errors and high energy, putting the ball away when we needed to. After being down in the first set, I'm really proud of how hard we worked to get to our standard of play and close out the game in three sets."

Bushnell got out to a slow start, trailing 9-1 in the first set. A 7-1 run got the Beacons back within two before grabbing a 14-13 lead and maintaining the advantage the rest of the way. The Beacons held the Lions to 14 points in the second set before securing the sweep with a 25-20 victory in the third.

Jason Corwin said, "Multnomah started the match fired up on their home court. I was pleased with our steady response. We stayed the course and got the outcome we wanted. The offense was spread out tonight, scoring points in a bunch of different places. We have a short week to get ready for Corban on Wednesday"

Multnomah (2-11, 2-11) was led by Maya Blake with nine kills. Aiyana Henderson provided 14 assists and Lauren Porter collected nine digs in the loss.

Bushnell hosts Corban in a mid-week match on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Morse Center.
