LA GRANDE, Ore. –  Eastern Oregon University came away with a 1-0 edge over the visiting Bushnell women's soccer team in Friday's Cascade Collegiate Conference contest at Community Stadium.

Head Coach
Halle Meadows said, "We held them most of the game and an unfortunate own goal put them ahead of us halfway through the second half and we just couldn't answer back. We did well and we were defensively sound. I couldn't ask for much more from the team."
Â
A 63
rd-minute goal was enough to give the Mountaineers (6-3-4, 4-3-2 CCC) the 1-0 victory and move themselves into a tie with the Beacons (5-5-2, 4-3-2) in the conference standings.
Â
The goal came after a shot from Kana Mateaki took a deflection off a Beacon defender. Mateaki finished with two shots for the Mounties, while Kennady Flint recorded four saves.
Â
Emily Puita accounted for three of the Beacons' four shots on goal, while
Lexi Bates grabbed three saves. EOU finished with an 11-7 advantage in shots with both sides tallying four on goal.
