Davis Breaks Two School Records in Washington

COMPLETE RESULTS | SEATTLE, Wash.  – Freshman Isaiah Davis continued an impressive career-opening run over the weekend, Breaking the Bushnell indoor 60m and 200m records at the Washington Invitational.

On Friday, Davis finished fifth in a 27-runner field in the 200m, and crushed the former school record by 0.33 seconds as he ran a 22.28. The previous record had stood for five years.

Saturday started with a strong performance in the 60m prelims as Davis tied for seventh with what was the second fastest time in school history at 6.95. Qualifying for the finals, the freshman did himself one better, becoming the first Beacon ever to break 6.90 with a 6.88. He took sixth-place and broke the NAIA "B" Standard in the process.

Also competing for the Beacons was senior Jaron Carter who took 20th in the 200m with a season-best 23.24 and 24th in the 60m prelims on Saturday morning (7.25). It was Carter's record from last season that had been broken by Davis in the 60m.

A larger Bushnell contingent is expected to be in action next Sunday as the Beacons compete in both the George Fox Indoor and the University of Portland Indoor on Sunday, February 5.
