ASHLAND, Ore. - Junior
Jaron Carter put the finishing touches on an incredible season on Saturday, scoring 15 of Bushnell's 17 points as they took eighth place at the CCC championship.

Carter became the first sprinter in school history to win a CCC title, claiming the 100m championship with a new school-record time of 10.68 seconds. He followed that up with a fourth-place finish in the 200m, missing out on a second All-CCC finish by just seven-one hundredths of a second.
Director of Track
Tom Boldon said, "Jaron got out quick and never looked back. He was the highlight of the weekend for us for sure."
Carter wasn't the only sprinter with strong results on Saturday as both of his 100m and 200m teammates also hit new season bests.
Ashton Williams beat out his PRs in the 100m (11.00) and 200m (22.69) while
Jacob Sanders hit a new standard in the 100m (10.98).
"Our coaching staff is so proud of how hard our kids competed," said Boldon. "Between our two programs we had 13 personal bests this weekend."
The men's team was also honored on Saturday with the Men's Sportsmanship Award (pictured, above). "Two coaches came up to us and said our kids were kind and respectful," said Boldon. "This award is voted on by the conference, so it really shows that our kids are living up to our Tri-Athlete model."
Bushnell's other two points came courtesy of eighth-place finishes for the 4x400m relay team of
Justin Rogers,
Christopher Rosebrook,
Jacob Sanders, and
Jaron Carter, and
Taylor Huffman in the javelin. Other competitors for the Beacons included
Linus Rueegger in the 10k, Rosebrook in the Steeplechase,
Nathan Wirth in the Pole Vault and Rogers in the 400m hurdles.
"We have a young team and are only losing a few people from this year's team," said Boldon. "With the talent coming in and all the returners, we look to be much stronger at conference next year."
