MONMOUTH, Ore. – Bushnell University dropped a game at NCAA Division II Western Oregon University on Tuesday, falling 13-4 in the non-conference contest at the WOU Baseball Field.
Bushnell (6-20) used seven pitchers over eight innings on the day.

Jayden Soriano and
Colby Knutzen each used 1-2-3 efforts to open the afternoon, going an inning apiece.
Western Oregon (15-11) went on to score five runs in the bottom of the fourth in an inning that saw three errors by the Beacon defense. The Wolves added four more in the sixth to make it a 9-1 lead.

Noah Montoya and
Jacob Stoner had RBI-singles to drive in runs for the Beacons. Montoya went 2-for-2 at the plate, drew a pair of walks and was hit by a pitch. Bushnell collected 10 hits in the contest but left 13 runners on base as the Beacons got themselves into scoring position in all but two innings.
The Wolves also used seven pitchers, who combined for 16 strikeouts.
The Beacons will be back in action this weekend, taking on Eastern Oregon in a four-game Cascade Collegiate Conference series in La Grande, Oregon.
