SALEM, Ore.  – The Bushnell Beach Volleyball team closed out a weekend home-and-home series with Corban University, falling to the Warriors in Salem twice, 4-1 and 5-0.
 
The tandem of Jessica Northcutt and Camille Guerrero (pictured) picked up the only win for the Beacons in the opener, giving them their second victory of the weekend. Three separate matches went three sets for the Beacons including the Northcutt/Guerrero win and close defeats for Makenna Northern/Shay Coons in the first dual and Halle Neumann/Brooke Silvernail in the second.
 
Bushnell moves to 0-9 on the season while Corban, ranked No.8 in the NAIA, improves to 8-3.
 
Head Coach Kim Elgarico said, "Losses are really hard to swallow and they are something nobody ever wants to deal with, but we use each loss to continue to get better. Our team is resilient and we keep coming back to the court with a little more fight each time. We are on the brink, and with a little more patience we will get to the next level."
