EUGENE, Ore. – K'wan Carter drove in the go-ahead layup with 2.7 seconds on the clock to give visiting Southern Oregon a 70-68 victory over the Bushnell men's basketball team in Saturday's Cascade Collegiate Conference contest.

Â
Bushnell was in the driver's seat in the first half after using a 19-7 run to take a 21-12 lead. The Beacons led by as many as 12 in the period and took a 39-31 advantage into the break.
Â
The Raiders inched their way back throughout the second half, tying the game at 59-59 with five and a half minutes to go. SOU held a slim lead before back-to-back layups from
Stevie Schlabach and
Keishon Dawkins tied the game at 68-68 with 12 seconds remaining. The Beacons were unable to get off a final shot after K'wan's go-ahead basket in the closing seconds.
Â
Schlabach led the Beacons with 18 points on 9-for-15 shooting.

Drayton Caoile finished with 10 points, five assists and four steals. Dawkins led the team in rebounding, grabbing eight while also recording 10 points.
Â
Bushnell shot 48% from the field, 43% from three-point range and 71% from the free throw line but gave up 18 points off turnovers. The Raiders finished with more turnovers than the Beacons, 18-17, but gave up just eight points in that category.

SOU shot 46% from the floor, 18% from three and 84% at the free throw line. The Raiders were led by 19 points from Atmar Mundu. Josh Meyer recorded a double-double, finishing with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Tez Allen nearly did the same, posting 12 points and nine rebounds. Â
It has been a season of "unrealized expectations", said Head Coach
Eddie Alexander. With a team full of potential, the Beacons have fallen short on a few occasions. Despite the frustration, the Beacons are still in contention to make the conference tournament.
