SEATTLE, Wash. -
Jaron Carter broke his PR in the indoor 200m on Friday at the Husky Classic and also competed in the 60m dash in a field that included mostly NCAA Division I competitors.
Carter was the top collegiate finisher in the race, beating out six DI athletes, and took fourth-place overall with a time of 22.66. He beat his own personal best and missed a school record by just 5/100ths of a second.
Associate Head Coach
George Walcott said, "Right now Jaron is just running on strength and I am very excited to see what will happen this season when we can start to do some more speed work as the weather warms up."
Carter returned on Saturday morning and competed in the preliminary race of the 60m event. The sophomore took 14th place in the 17-runner field, posting a time of 7.13. The school-record holder in the event now owns the four fastest times ever, as this one came in fourth on the list.
Bushnell will see more athletes in action next weekend as they close out the indoor season at the George Fox Indoor Three event, at the Austin Sports Complex in Newberg on Saturday.
