MEN'S BASKETBALL

Friday 11/11 vs. Bethel (Ind.), 5:00 pm EST (Livestats | Video Stream)
Saturday 11/12 at Grace (Ind.), 5:00 pm EST (Livestats | Video Stream)

The Beacons have a big weekend ahead, competing in the highly anticipated inaugural Cascade/Crossroads Classic, which pits a pair of Cascade Collegiate Conference teams against a pair of teams from the Crossroads League. Bushnell heads east, along with Oregon Tech.

This will be Bushnell's first-ever meetings against both Bethel University and Grace College.

BETHEL: The Pilots of Bethel University took seventh place in the Crossroads last season, going 13-18 on the year, including a 6-12 clip in conference play. This season they are off to a 3-0 start including a 20-point victory over No. 19 Indiana-South Bend.

GRACE: The Lancers tied for fourth in the Crossroads last season, going 27-9 with an 11-7 mark in conference. They went on to win the Crossroads Tournament championship, and made it all the way to the round of 16 at the NAIA National Championship. They come into this season ranked No. 8 in the NAIA and they are also 3-0 on the year.

VOLLEYBALL

CCC CHAMPIONSHIPS
Friday 11/11 vs. Evergreen State, 12:30 pm (Livestats | Video Stream)
Friday 11/11 – Semifinals, 4:00 pm/7:30 pm (Livestats | Video Stream)
Saturday 11/12  - Championship, 3:00 pm (Livestats | Video Stream)

Bushnell (19-11, 14-8 CCC) went 2-0 last weekend to secure a tie for third-place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Southern Oregon tied with the Beacons but swept the regular-season series to earn the tie-breaker for the No. 3 seed, giving Bushnell the No. 4 seed.

TOURNAMENT FIELD: Regular season champion Eastern Oregon (21-1) earned the No. 1 seed while Corban University (20-2) took the No. 2 seed. Both will have a bye into the semifinals where they will take on the winners of the #4 Bushnell/ #5 Evergreen and #3 SOU/ #6 LC State matches.

EVERGREEN: The Geoducks (14-12, 13-9 CCC) may be one of the scariest teams for the Beacons to face. The fifth-place finishers recently knocked off No. 4 Corban University to keep the Warriors out of a share of the regular-season title. In addition, Bushnell has already defeated ESC twice this season. The old adage says it is tough to beat a team three times in the same season, no matter the circumstances.

The Geoducks are 6th in the CCC in hitting (.198) just ahead of Bushnell (7th, .190). They are eighth defensively (.178 hitting percentage against) while the Beacons are fifth (.155).

Bushnell holds a 22-9 lead in the all-time series with Evergreen, and has won five straight.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Saturday 11/12 vs Montana Western 6:00 pm (Livestats | Video Stream)

Bushnell is coming off a 2-1 road trip to open the season, falling to No. 2 Westmont College before traveling to Rocklin, California and defeating Lincoln University and William Jessup University at the Bill Holtz Warrior Classic. Aspen Slifka knocked down her 1,000th-career point on Saturday, becoming the fifth Beacon in school history to accomplish the feat.

MONTANA WESTERN: The Bulldogs (1-0) finished fourth in the Frontier Conference last season, posting a 15-14 record after earning an at-large bid to the national tournament where they fell to the University of Science and Arts. Montana Western comes into the year with a preseason ranking of No. 23 in the country.

The Bulldogs return Third-Team All-American Brynley Fitzgerald, who averaged 18 points per game. Fitzgerald recorded 15 points and six rebounds in a 83-58 win over Dickinson State on Saturday.

Bushnell is 0-2 in the all-time series with Montana Western, but the teams haven't faced off against one another since the 2012-2013 season.
