Â
WESTMONT: The second-ranked Warriors (1-0) return seven players, including four starters from a team that advanced to the round of 16 last season. Westmont finished 27-5 overall and 16-2 in the GSAC last year, falling to Central Methodist at the national tournament. A notable member of the returning squad is Stefanie Berberabe, a two-time NAIA First-Team All-American and the 2020-21 NAIA Player of the Year, the season in which the Warriors were the National Champions.
Â
The Warriors defeated No. 22 Lewis-Clark State, 81-73, to open the season. Laila Saenz led the team with 22 points, while Berberabe finished with 16 points, 10 assists and six rebounds. The Warriors fell to NCAA Division I Washington State, 64-40, in an exhibition game on Sunday.
Â
Westmont is 3-0 against Bushnell in the all-time series, which includes a 74-51 win last season in the Morse Center.
Â
LINCOLN: The Oaklanders opened their season at 0-1 after falling to San Diego Christian College on Saturday. Linsey Claude led the team with 14 points and six rebounds. Lincoln shot 33.3% from the floor and 18.8% from three-point range as a team in the loss.
Â
This will be the first match between the Beacons and Oaklanders.
Â
WILLIAM JESSUP: The Warriors (0-2), who went 14-17 overall and 9-9 in the GSAC last season, opened the year with close losses to Goshen College and (RV) Saint Francis. Jessup added 12 newcomers in the offseason.
Â
The Beacons hold a 12-8 lead in the all-time series with the Warriors with the last matchup taking place in 2018.
CROSS COUNTRY
Friday 11/04 CCC Championships / Women 10:00 am, Men 11:00 am (Livestats)
Â
The Beacons have been preparing for this day all season and are ready to tackle the Cascade Collegiate Conference championships, hosted by Southern Oregon University at Colver Field in Talent, Oregon.
Â
WOMEN'S PREVIEW: Bushnell will be looking to improve on an eighth-place finish at the 2021 CCC Championship. They were third at the conference preview in September. The College of Idaho is the favorite to repeat as championship. They are currently ranked No. 7 in the NAIA. Also finding spots in the national coaches top-25 are No. 11 Southern Oregon and No. 21 Lewis-Clark State College.
Rebecca Kuskie is the lone returning All-CCC finisher for the Beacons after taking fifth-place at last year's championship.
Â
MEN'S PREVIEW: Bushnell is in for a battle as they will face off against no less than five teams currently ranked in the NAIA Top-25. No. 5 Eastern Oregon is the favorite, followed by No. 11 Southern Oregon. Defending Champion College of Idaho is No. 14 while LC State is No. 15 and Oregon Tech is No. 22. Last year the Beacons took seventh place and will compete without any returning All-CCC runners.
VOLLEYBALL
Friday 11/4 vs. Walla Walla, 2:00 pm (Livestats | Video Stream)
Saturday 11/5 vs. LC State, 5:00 pm (Livestats | Video Stream)
Â
Bushnell (17-11, 12-8 CCC) head into their final weekend of the season still looking to clinch a spot in the CCC post-season tournament. The Beacons host Walla Walla on Friday before closing out the regular season against LC State on Saturday. Before Saturday's game, the Beacons will honor their seven seniors in a pre-game ceremony.
Â
CCC LANDSCAPE: Eastern Oregon, Corban, and Evergreen have all locked up a spot in the CCC tournament while five schools are still mathematically alive in the hunt for the final three spots. For Southern Oregon, LC State and Bushnell, just one win is needed to clinch a berth as all three are 12-8 with Northwest and Oregon Tech sitting at 10-10.
Â
WALLA WALLA: The Wolves (1-19, 1-19 CCC) come into Friday's matinee on the heels of a victory over Warner Pacific University on Saturday. It was their first conference victory in seven years.
Â
Walla Walla is 11th in the CCC in both hitting percentage (.063) and opponent hitting percentage (.245). They are led by the Browning sisters (Sahara and Gabrielle) who combine for over 6.5 kills per set. Sahara is also third in the CCC in service aces, averaging 0.46 per set.
Â
Bushnell holds a 21-4 lead in the all-time series with the Wolves, and have won 12 straight. The last win for Walla Walla was in 2015.
Â
LC STATE: The Warriors (16-9, 12-8) are part of that group of teams fighting for the playoffs. They come into the weekend having won three of their last four matches.
Â
Lewis-Clark State ranks fifth in the CCC offensively (.210) and fourth defensively (.148 against). They are the top serving team in the conference, averaging 2.08 service aces per set.
Â
The Warriors won in Lewiston earlier this season against the Beacons, 3-1, to break a four-game winning streak by Bushnell in the series. LCSC now holds a slight 5-4 edge in the all-time series, but the Beacons are 4-1 since LC State joined the Cascade Conference.Â

Â
The Beacons have not played the Arrows often, with Friday's game being a contractual return-game for a meeting in Eugene back in 2019. Bushnell won that contest 101-80.
Â
WILLAMETTE: The Bearcats are officially 0-0 on the season, having lost to Corban on Monday, 88-43 in a game they played as an exhibition. They are also using Saturday's game with the Beacons as an exhibition, although it will be a countable contest for Bushnell under NAIA rules.
Â
Last season, Bushnell defeated the Bearcats in Salem, 117-83 in their highest scoring game of the season. Willamette went on to go 6-18 last season, including a 3-13 in the NCAA Division III Northwest Conference.
