COMPLETE RACE RESULTS | SALEM, Ore. – Notorious for being one of the fastest races of the season, the Charles Bowles Invitational held up to its billing on Saturday for the Bushnell men's cross country team as numerous racers posted all-time best times at the Bush Park course.
Â
The Beacons were back in action for the first time in three weeks, and there was very little evidence of rust as eight runners all hit collegiate or lifetime bests, leading the team to a 13th-place finish. "It was really good to get back to competition after three solid weeks of training," said head coach
Tom Boldon. "We had some very strong performances today and I was very proud of the way we competed. Our plan was to start fast and stick to the pack as long as we could. I think we were successful with that for the most part."
Â
Leading the way was
Linus Rueegger (pictured) , running a lifetime best 26:25.3 to take 60th place in the field of over 200 runners.
Christopher Rosebrook (27:29.6) and
Noah Mancione (27:34.7) also ran strong with personal bests.
Â
Freshmen
Sayer Pescosolido (28:20.0) and
Jonathan Rosebrook (28:26.2) rounded out the scoring for Bushnell.
Will Callahan (29:44.1),
Ephraim Webber (29:52.7), and
Connor Woodcock (30:23.2) also ran for the Beacons, as did
Seth Handman (32:16.1) and
Isaac Bodley (34:32.2).
Â
Pescosolido, Callahan, Handman, Bodley, and Webber all posted personal best times.
Â
The Beacons will head east next week, participating in the Inland Empire Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Lewis-Clark State College.
