Defending Champs Release 2021-22 Schedule

VIEW COMPLETE SCHEDULE

EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell women's basketball team released their schedule on Friday for the 2021-2022 season, and as they prepare to fight for a third-straight CCC championship, they will have their work cut out for them, both inside and out of the Cascade Collegiate Conference.

Head Coach Chad Meadors said, "I love this year's schedule! It will definitely prepare us for the CCC while providing some insight as to where we are as a team nationally. We play the defending NAIA champions, and two other Top-15 teams which raises the competition level in the non-conference portion of our schedule. We also have trips scheduled to Nevada and Arizona which give our fans, parents and Beacon family two travel destinations to get away while supporting our Beacons. It should be another great year."

The Beacons are scheduled to have the ultimate test right out of the gates as they welcome in the defending NAIA Champion Westmont College from Santa Barbara, California, on November 4 at 6:00 pm. Bushnell, who was unable to compete during the spring CCC season and didn't end the year at the national tournament, brings a ten-game winning streak into the contest while the Warriors won their final 15 games last year.

The schedule doesn't get any easier the following week as the team hits the road for the first time, facing off against Montana Tech on November 10. The following day, the Beacons will play against Carroll College, the defending Frontier Conference champions who closed last season ranked No. 6 in the NAIA.

The Beacons will face off against Pacific Union College and Montana Tech on November 19-20 at home, as part of the Beacon Classic tournament, their final tuneup before CCC action gets underway against Corban University in Salem on November 23.

The non-conference slate will also include an exhibition game against the University of Nevada-Reno on December 11 and the team's first-ever trip to Arizona on December 20-22 as they compete in the Phoenix Frontier Classic. That tournament will be highlighted by a December 21 game against Mid-America Nazarene, who ended the 2020-2021 season ranked No. 12 in the NAIA.

The CCC schedule highlights include a home game against Eastern Oregon University on January 1. The Beacons will pay a visit to the last school to hand them a loss on December 18, traveling to face Oregon Tech.
