Shawn Johnson did the heavy lifting for the Beacons on the first day of the CCC Track & Field Championships presented by U.S. Bank.

Johnson had a hand in 12 of Bushnell's 14 points as the team ended the night sitting in 6th place.

Johnson began the day helping guide the 4x100m Relay team to a third-place finish as he,
Jaron Carter,
Nicolas Delgado, and
Hunter Reininger all earned the All-CCC honor.

Less than an hour later he was back on the track, claiming a third-place finish of his own in the 400m event. He broke his own school record with a time of 49.36, and claimed the first All-CCC individual honor of his career and just the second all-conference finish for a sprinter in school history.

With the 4x100m relay team taking third, senior Delgado now has four All-CCC relay performances in his career.

Other highlights from day one of the championships included a sixth-place finish and personal record in the long jump for
Mayah Pappas, scoring the first three points of the weekend for the women who sit in eighth place with six points.

Logan Oakerman opened up his contributions with a seventh-place finish in the shot put. Oakerman is one of the favorites to win the Discus on Saturday.
