PORTLAND, Ore. – The Bushnell women's soccer team fought their way to their first positive result of the season on Monday morning, earning a 1-1 draw with Warner Pacific University in the penultimate match of the season.
Â
The Beacons fought through a 32-17 shot discrepancy as senior
Makenna Hadaller collected a season-high 14 saves. The Beacons also posted a season-best 12 shots-on-goal in the contest, led by five from
Sierra Coloma.
Â
It was Coloma who would save the day for the Beacons.
Â
After Warner Pacific got on the board in the 71st minute, Bushnell needed just 51 seconds for the equalizer as Coloma took a pass from
Dejah Wallot in front of the net and fired home the goal though the crowd.
Â
For the Beacons, it was their first score of the conference season, breaking a streak of 802 minutes without a goal.
Â
Bushnell (0-11-1, 0-8-1 CCC) and Warner Pacific (1-9-1, 0-8-1) will battle it out one more time on Tuesday, closing the season with an 11:00 am kickoff as both schools look for their first CCC win of the year.
