Season Closes with Scoreless Tie

PORTLAND, Ore.  – Makenna Hadaller closed her career with a gritty 110-minute shutout as the Bushnell women's soccer team ended the season on Tuesday with a 0-0 draw against Warner Pacific University.

Hadaller, who played most of the second half after a separated shoulder, made 11 saves in the game and will end her career with 181, ranks fifth in Bushnell history.  The Beacons were out-shot 25-4 in the game but were able to withstand the onslaught to end the campaign with their second straight positive result.

After the game, head coach Benny Flores said, "I have been coaching for 15 years and I have never seen the kind of character shown by these young ladies. We had only 12 field players and I asked them if they still wanted to play. They had every reason to say no. They played 110 minutes the day before, it was the last game of a long season. Everyone one of the players said they wanted to play."

Tuesday also marked the end of the careers for Bushnell seniors Sierra Coloma, Dre Davids, Taylor Doyle, Makenna Hadaller, Casandra Marquez, Aracely Marks and Rachel Rhoads. "The seniors from this years' class played like true Beacons today," said Flores. "They led us off the field and on the field. Makenna played through a tough injury, Sierra played 220 minutes in the last two days, Taylor, playing every minute of every game this season, fractured her arm. I am so proud of this team."

Bushnell closes out the campaign with a record of 0-11-2 including an 0-8-2 mark in Cascade Collegiate Conference. They finish tied for fifth place with WPU in the CCC West Division.
