Beacons Fall to Corban

EUGENE, Ore.  – The Bushnell University women's soccer team lost to Corban University on Monday afternoon, 7-0 at Les Schwab Sports Park.
 
Corban (2-1, 2-0 CCC) owned a 26-3 advantage in shot attempts and were led by Juliana Pires, who produced a hat trick.
 
The Warriors opened quickly, gaining what would become the game-winning goal in the 2nd minute when Skyla Vogelpohl connected off a pass from Maria Serrant, For Serrant, it was her first of three assists. Before the first half was finished, it was a 4-0 game as Pires scored twice and picked up an assist. 
 
Makenna Hadaller led all players with eight saves, while backup keeper Rachel Rhoads, recently cleared to play after a long-fought return from injury, played the final 21 minutes in goal, picking up two saves without allowing a goal.
 
Bushnell (0-5, 0-2) will hit the road next weekend, traveling to face Southern Oregon University on Sunday and Monday. Both games are scheduled for 1:00 pm kickoffs.
