EUGENE, Ore. – Northwest posted one goal in each half to claim a 2-0 victory, the smallest margin of victory yet for a Bushnell women's soccer opponent.
Â
The defensive effort was bolstered by the goalkeeping tandem of
Rachel Rhoads and
Makenna Hadaller, each playing for 45 minutes. Rhoads made two saves in the first half while Hadaller made five in the second, keeping things close.
Â
The only goal surrendered by Rhoads was a penalty kick, coming in 26th minute off the foot of Olivia Morris. Hadaller also had a tough luck goal go against her as she made a brilliant save, coming out of the box to stop a Grace Burke attempt only to allow the Callie Wright rebound shot to find the back of an empty net. Â
Â
The Beacons were out-shot 13-8 in the contest and the teams were even with three corner kicks each.
Â
Bushnell (0-10, 0-7 CCC) and Northwest (4-4-1, 4-2-1) will battle it out one more time, facing off on Monday at 2:30 pm. It will be the final home game of the season for the Beacons and they will honor their seniors in a pre-game ceremony.
