EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell men's basketball team pulled even at 2-2 after taking care of Multnomah University on Saturday, 101-77. The Beacons shot 53.5% from the field and saw contributions from up and down the lineup.

The Beacons (2-2, 2-2 CCC) had a much better start on Saturday, claiming a 46-41 lead at halftime. Bushnell weathered a barrage of 14 three-pointers from the Lions, and continued to pull away with a 55-point second half to earn the victory.

Eddie Alexander said, "We got better today. It was good to see guys take what we learned in film and put it into action today. For us, we need to get better each day and today we did that. We shared the ball and executed the game plan extremely well today."

Stevie Schlabach scored a game-high 29 points, most on mid-range jumpers, as he shot 12-for-17 from the field, adding six rebounds and three blocks.
Ernest Ugoagu added 20 and
Kaden Sand scored 19, hitting a game-high five three-pointers.

It was the play of two others that stole the show for the home team as junior
Logan Sand and sophomore
Luke Burke (pictured) flirted with triple-doubles. Sand played 22 minutes off the bench and came away with nine points, nine assists and seven rebounds. Burke scored 14 points in 37 minutes of work, adding a game-high ten rebounds along with seven assists. As a team, the Beacons owned 29 assists and just ten turnovers while out-rebounding MU, 52-32.

The Lions (0-19, 0-4 CCC) were led by Wallace Ungwiluk, scoring 19 points. Maxime Dehon added 11 points while Forrest Smith came off the bench to score 12. Multnomah held a 29-15 advantage in bench scoring in the contest.

Bushnell will hit the road next weekend, continuing the Cascade Collegiate Conference spring schedule with a double-header at Corban University. The teams will play at 8:30 pm on Friday and 7:30 pm on Saturday.
