EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell University track & field teams closed out the Lane Community College Icebreaker on Saturday, adding one more CCC qualifying mark.

Jaron Carter (pictured), having already won the 100m and missing the school record by one tenth of a second on Friday, added a conference qualifier in the 200m, coming in as the top collegiate finisher at 22.79.

Saturday also included the first big distance track event as the bulk of the cross country team used the 5000m event as a final tune up for the CCC cross country championship in two weeks. Leading the way, with a 25-second personal record was
Jacob Truitt, coming in at 15:30.94. He was the top collegiate finisher and was first among five teammates.

Carter was joined by
Josh McCluskey,
Hunter Reininger, and
Nicolas Delgado for the first 4x100 relay of the season, taking second place at 43.68 seconds.

Friday's highlights included five other CCC qualifications including two for senior
Logan Oakerman. The heavy-throws triple crown holder for the Beacons broke two of his own records in the discus and shot put. In the discus, he won the event with a throw of 44.14 meters, breaking his record by nearly five feet. His shot put record of 12.97 made him the top collegiate finisher and broke the previous mark by 22 inches.

Prince Harris hit the mark in the triple jump, coming in at 12.75 meters.
Shawn Johnson also qualified for conference in the 400m, running a 50.65 to win the event. Freshman
Luke King joined Oakerman as a qualifier in the shot put.
