ASHLAND, Ore. – Southern Oregon University scored late in both halves to secure the 3-0 victory over visiting Bushnell University in Friday's Cascade Collegiate Conference women's soccer match at Raider Stadium.

Benny Flores. "Today we played a very good team and were in the game until the end. We are excited to play again tomorrow!"

Bushnell trailed 1-0 at the half after Gabbie Johnson headed in a shot with just over a minute to play for the Raiders. The Beacons' best opportunity in the half came in the 29
th minute off the foot of
Dejah Wallot. Raiders' goalkeeper Ashlynn Hernandez made a diving save on Wallot's shot to keep the Beacons scoreless.

Southern Oregon held a 7-2 advantage in shots at the break, but both sides had two attempts on goal.

The Raiders earned a penalty kick in the 87
th minute and Phoebe Bunn converted the shot to take the 2-0 lead before Natalie Paul scored with just a second on the clock to secure the 3-0 victory.

Southern Oregon (9-4-1, 7-2 CCC) outshot Bushnell 17-5, but just six of the Raiders' shots were on goal. Wallot,
Jamie Figueredo and
Emily Puita each had a shot on goal for the Beacons (4-11, 2-8).

The Beacons close the weekend with a match at Oregon Tech (11-2, 8-1) on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 2:30 p.m.
