SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Emily Puita's goal in the 82
nd minute gave the Bushnell women's soccer team a 1-0 win over visiting Multnomah and its first Cascade Collegiate Conference victory of the season in Friday's match at the Les Schwab Sports Park.

Benny Flores said, "The girls came out and played hard. We are still learning to play at a high level for 90 minutes. I am excited to play the next few games at home."
The Beacons (3-6, 1-3 CCC) kept up the offensive pressure throughout the match, finishing with a 19-3 advantage in shots and putting a season-high 10 shots on goal. The Lions (1-5, 0-4 CCC) took their only shot on frame in the 80

Puita (pictured) knocked in the match-winner with under 10 minutes to play for her fourth goal of the season. The freshman stole the ball from a defender and dribbled by one more before winning the one-on-one with Multnomah's goalkeeper.
Brooke Molina, who played all 90 minutes on defense for the Beacons said, "I thought it was a very good win for us. It is something that we needed. We started off strong and then let off as the game continued but overall, we ended on a good note."
Bushnell continues its six-match homestand tomorrow as the Beacons take on Warner Pacific (1-6, 0-4) at 3 p.m.
"We need hydrate and get ready for tomorrow," said Molina. "We need that hustle and intensity for tomorrow if we want to win."
