Caldwell, Idaho. – The Northwest Christian University men's basketball team lost to the College of Idaho 73-61 on Saturday evening.
After being tied 35-35 at halftime, the Yotes outscored the Beacons 38-26 in the second half to seal the victory. Behind Ivory Miles-Williams 29 points, the College of Idaho bench outscored NCU 40-19. Despite shooting 14-16 from the free throw line and 9-21 from beyond the arc the Beacons were not able to hold onto the lead in the second half.
The Beacons (8-7, 3-2 CCC) were led by
Ernest Ugoagu with 21 points, seven rebounds, and three assists while
Malik Corey scored 13 points and four rebounds.
Shawn Carson tallied six points, three rebounds and a game-high five blocks with
Stevie Schlabach adding 12 points off the bench in the loss.
Ivory Miles-Williams led the Yotes (13-3, 6-0 CCC) with 29 points and five rebounds on 12-17 shooting from the field while Talon Pinckey added eight points, five rebounds, and five steals in the loss.
The Beacons will return home to host Warner Pacific University on Friday, January 10, at 7:30pm at the Morse Event Center.
