Olympia, Wash. – With five scorers in double figures, the Northwest Christian University men's basketball team completed the season sweep over Evergreen following a 91-77 victory on Saturday night.
After entering halftime with a 41-36 edge, the Beacons were able to extend their lead as they outscored Evergreen 50-41 in the second half on 65% shooting from the field. NCU outrebounded the Geoducks 31-25 with seven offensive rebounds.
The Northwest Christian (10-11, 5-6) scoring attack was group effort as they had five different scorers in double figures.
Ernest Ugoagu had a team-high 19 points and six rebounds.
Logan Davis and
Kaden Sand added 15 points a piece while
Malik Corey scored 12 points.
Stevie Schlabach added 12 points off the bench on 5-of-6 shooting from the field as the Beacon bench outscored Evergreen 28-12 in the victory.
LaBrandon Price led Evergreen (3-16, 0-13) with a game-high 22 points on 13-19 shooting from the field. Elijah Fuller scored 15 points and five rebounds while Mitch Wetmore added 11 in the loss.
NCU will return back to Eugene to host Corban University on Tuesday, January 28, at 7:30pm at the Morse Event Center.
