Beacons Drops Third Straight

Kirkland, Wash. – The Northwest Christian men's basketball team fell to Northwest University 75-69 Friday night. Tonight marks the third consecutive loss in CCC play for the Beacons.

After trailing by as much as 20 points in the second half, NCU was able to narrow the deficit to a single score with under five minutes remaining behind a 20-3 run by the the Beacons. The Eagles then countered the NCU surge with a 7-0 run of their own to hold on for the victory. On the night Northwest Christian shot .403 from the field and 10-of-22 from beyond the arc.
 
Logan Sand led the Beacons (9-10, 4-5) with team-high 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting while Stevie Schlabach chipped in 12 points. Senior's Logan Davis and Shawn Carson added 10 points a piece in the loss. The NCU second unit outscored Northwest 32-12. 
 
The Eagles (13-6, 8-2) were led by Christian Hakillmali with a game-high 20 points and 11 rebounds while Ryan Ricks added 14 points and six rebounds. Hussayn Ford tallied a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. Northwest outrebounded NCU 45-29. 
 
Northwest Christian will look to bounce back tomorrow as they travel to Olympia, Washington to take on The Evergreen State College at 7:30pm.
