Ashland, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University men's basketball team fell to No. 15 Southern Oregon, 77-74, on Saturday night.

After trailing 35-27 at halftime, NCU was able to narrow the deficit and take a 71-70 lead over SOU with just over two minutes remaining in the game. Despite outscoring the Raiders 47-42 in the second half, the late surge was not enough for the Beacons to steal the road victory.

Junior Ernest Ugoagu led the way for the Beacons (9-10, 4-5 CCC) scoring a team-high 18 points and five rebounds while Kaden Sand tallied 15 points and five rebounds. Shawn Carson added 11 points and seven rebounds. The Beacons outrebounded the Raiders 41-37 with 12 offensive rebounds.
