Late Heroics Lift Beacons to First CCC Win

9/27/2019 4:48:00 PM

Box Score PORTLAND, Ore  - Freshman Taylor Bryant made the most of her first Cascade Conference road game, kicking in the game-winning goal as the NCU women's soccer team knocked off Multnomah University in the second overtime, 1-0.

Bryant streaked across the box unmarked as a corner kick from Yazmin Gonzalez sailed in and landed at her feet where she one-timed the ball into the back of the net. It was NCU's first conference victory of the season.

Senior Katie Hastings (pictured) hit a milestone as she got the start in goal and recorded four saves in the 102-minute shutout. It was her seventh career clean sheet, placing her alone in second-place on NCU's all-time list. It was also a milestone tenth victory for Hastings, who becomes just the second Beacon keeper to reach double-digits.

In the game, NCU (2-6, 1-2 CCC) out-shot the Lions (1-4, 0-2) 10-7 and had six shots-on-goal. The Beacons will look to build more momentum on Saturday when they take on Warner Pacific (0-5, 0-2) at 12:30 pm.
