Box Score Eugene, Ore. - The Northwest Christian University volleyball team suffered a tough home loss Friday night as they lost in five sets to the Oregon Tech Owls, 29-27, 20-25, 17-25, 25-14, 15-7.
After an extended first set loss, the Beacons regained momentum by winning sets two and three. NCU (9-5, CCC 1-4) was lead by Junior Claire Salness who posted a double-double with 10 kills and 14 digs. Sophomore Makenna Northern had a match-high 41 assists. Freshmen Halle Neumann contributed five of her nine kills in the third set. Kayla Olsen posted a team high 24 digs.
OIT Sophomore Nicole Reyes led the Owls (11-4, CCC 4-1) with eleven kills and nine digs. Junior McKenna Woolley had ten kills while freshman Ashley Ripplinger added eight. Freshmen Aubrey Kievit contributed a match high 33 digs. OIT had 15 team blocks for the match.
NCU will look to regroup Saturday as they set their sights on No. 5 Southern Oregon. The Beacons will take on the Raiders at the Morse Event Center at 7 pm.
