EUGENE, Ore. – Competing in Eugene for the only time this season, the NCU men's track & field team capped off the Titan Twilight with a rare Distance Medley Relay, pitting two Beacon teams against each other.
Â
The event, which is not an NAIA official outdoor track & field event, was won by the NCU distance team of
Dan Carrier,
Carson Bain (pictured, right),
Isaac Sanchez, and
Conner Covey(pictured, left). The team set a new NCU record at 10:50.29, a record which was set nine years ago, the last time NCU competed in the event. Coming in fourth-place was the team of
Shawn Johnson,
Antonio Campos-Perez,
Nicolas Delgado and
Josh McCluskey at 11:41.01.
Â
Earlier in the day Delgado, Campos-Perez, and McCluskey were joined by
Josh Beecher as they took second-place in the 4x100m relay, just 15/100ths of a second behind conference-leading Southern Oregon.
Â
The Beacons will split up next weekend for a pair of competitions. Those who qualify will head to Corvallis for the Oregon State High Performance meet while the NCU throws crew heads to Boise for the second year in a row to compete in the Boise State Border Clash.
