Savannah Proske completed NCU's highest Heptathlon finish in school history on Friday, scoring 4136 to take sixth place at the CCC multi-event championships.
Proske's total breaks the NAIA standard and currently places her 11th in the NAIA. The top 16 declared athletes at the end of the season will earn an invitation to compete at the national championships.
As expected, the jumping events were where Proske shined, taking second-place finishes in both the high jump and long jump. Her high-jump of 1.61 meters on Thursday scored 747 points and set a new NCU school record. She leaped 5.13 meters in the long jump to score 595.
With her sixth-place finish, NCU earns three points for the CCC Championships which will begin in earnest on May 10th in Ashland.
