Records Fall, Conference Roster Grows at Raider Invite

ASHLAND, Ore. – As the 2019 outdoor season crosses the halfway point, the NCU women's track & field team continues an upward trend as the Beacons broke three school records and saw five new Cascade Conference qualifications.

All three school records featured athletes breaking their own established standards, led by senior Bri Jury (pictured) who ran a 1:05.89 in the 100m Hurdles to break a mark which she set as a sophomore by 15/100ths of a second.

Senior Myah Harter once again improved her own Shot Put record, throwing nearly three feet further than she ever had to post a 12.41 meter mark. Harter, a defending All-CCC honoree, now ranks third in the conference in the event.

Sophomore Rachel Rhoads also broke a school Pole Vault record which she previously shared with Christy Seaton, establishing a new standard at 2.75 meters.

Among the new CCC qualifying marks were two set by women who had already punched their tickets in other events. Both Abigail Spencer (12.95) and Savannah Proske (13.01) added the 100m dash to their conference slate. New qualifiers were Emily Moon in the 800m, Mikayla Rodriguez in the High Jump and Victoria Messer in the 3000m Steeplechase.

The Beacons, who saw nine season-best marks over the weekend, will look to keep their impressive momentum going next weekend as they compete in Eugene for the only time this season at the Lane Community College Titan Twilight on Saturday evening.
