PORTLAND, Ore. – Playing at a neutral site for the first time in 2018, the NCU women's soccer team lost their third contest of the season on Monday afternoon, falling to Mid-America Nazarene, 5-0.

The Pioneers (2-0-1) from Olathe, Kansas scored four times in the second half to pull away from the Beacons (0-3). MANU had also defeated Warner Pacific in Portland on Saturday, 7-1.

Katie Hastings busy throughout the first half, peppering the frame with seven shots-on-goal. Hastings made six saves over those first 45 minutes as Mid-America Nazarene scored just once, on a rebound in the 14th minute.

Four minutes into the second half it was already 3-0 and the Pioneers added another pair later. Maria Lopez ended the day with a hat-trick scoring the game-winner in the first half and adding two in the second along with one assist.

NCU was out-shot 19-5 in the contest and got off three shots-on-goal, getting one apiece from
Aracely Marks,
Sierra Coloma, and
Amanda Whetten.

The Beacons will return to the Eastside Timbers Sports Complex in Portland next Sunday for another neutral site affair. This time they will take on Mills College from California at 1:00 pm. NCU is 6-0 all-time against the Cyclones, having outscored them 51-1 in those games.
