ROCKLIN, Calif. – The Northwest Christian University men's basketball team moved to 2-1 on Friday afternoon with a 82-76 victory over Menlo College in the Bill Holtz Memorial Classic. The Oaks came into the game ranked No. 21 in the NAIA Division I Coaches Poll.

Trailing by four points with 3:22 remaining, senior
Reece Robinson hit a three-pointer to spark a 10-0 and pull away for the win. NCU shot 50% in the game including a 7-for-14 effort from three-point range and held the Oaks to just 45% shooting and 4-for-13 from outside.

The Beacons were led by
Austin Tyner, posting a career-high 31 points as he shot 11-for-18 from the field and hit four three-pointers.
Davonte Cleveland added 22 points, seven assists and six rebounds, shooting 8-for-14 and Robinson finished with 19 on 70% shooting.
Shawn Carson scored five and led all players with eight rebounds.

Jeremiah Testa led Menlo (0-2) with 28 points, hitting four three-pointers. John Paine added 14 points and Henry Cornelious chipped in with 11.

NCU will close out the tournament at 6:00 pm on Saturday when they face off against tourney host William Jessup.
