SALEM, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University women's soccer team matched Corban shot-for-shot on Saturday evening, but it was the Warriors that found the back of the net in a 2-0 Cascade Collegiate Conference victory.

Corban (7-5, 4-3 CCC) held a slight 15-14 edge in shot-attempts but the teams both finished the night with eight shots-on-goal.

The first strike came in the 18th minute when Eve Ponce poked in a short-ranger that deflected off NCU keeper
Katie Hastings. Ponce struck again in the 73rd minute, this time on a header off a corner kick.

The Beacons (2-8-1, 1-5-1) were led by
Libby Gregory and
Sierra Coloma who each posted four shots with two on-frame. Hastings ended the night with six saves in the loss.

NCU will hit the road next weekend, first traveling to take on The College of Idaho on Friday at 12:30 pm MST. Then on Sunday they head further east into Montana to take on Rocky Mountain College (12:00 pm MST).Â
