CALDWELL, Idaho – Junior Goalkeeper
Katie Hastings had a busy afternoon as the Beacons fell to The College of Idaho, 2-1.
Â
The Beacons (2-9-1, 1-6-1 CCC) were out-shot 28-3 in the contest and allowed 14 shots-on-goal, allowing one score in each half, Hastings ended the game with a career-high 12 saves.
Â
Despite the lopsided stat sheet, NCU was actually the first team on the scoreboard, punching in a goal less than five minutes into the game. Freshman
Hannah Best took a long through-ball from
Jamie Figueredo and fired it into the back of the net for her team-leading fourth goal of the season.
Â
The Yotes (6-3-2, 3-3-1) tied things up just ten minutes later, with a breakaway through-ball of their own. Then, C of I scored the game-winner in the second half, as Maddie Brown collected the ball off a defensive miscue and beat Hastings to the left corner.
Â
NCU will return to action on Saturday, heading further east to Billings, Montana where they face Rocky Mountain College at 12 pm MST. Â
