HELENA, Mont. – It was another one-goal loss for the NCU women's soccer team on Saturday as they fell 2-1 to Carroll College.
Â
The game was back-and-fourth all afternoon and the first half remained scoreless until there were just two seconds remaining on the clock. Kirsten Girolami fired a last ditch free kick and
Katie Hastings made a diving save to deflect the ball. Unforunately, another Saint player was the first to get to it as Christina Plank punched in the score.
Â
NCU would tie things up early in the second half. In the 51
st minute,
Lauren Kogutkiewicz had her shot deflected only to find
Libby Gregory there for cleanup duty, scoring her second goal of the weekend.
Â
Unfortunately for the visitors, Carroll put away the game in the 66
th minute when Charly Clements hit one in from two yards out off a corner kick from Talya Vaira.
Â
The Beacons (1-5) will look to rebound on Friday when they return home to take on Southern Oregon University at 1:00 pm.
