Beacons Roll to Third Straight Win

EUGENE, Ore. – NCU claimed their third consecutive victory on Saturday night, knocking off Walla Walla University Cascade Conference action, 25-15, 25-18, 25-17.
 
NCU (7-2, 3-2 CCC) controlled play throughout the night and finished with a .244 hitting percentage as they owned a 45-23 advantage in kills.
 
Senior Maci Beierle continued her incredible season with 37 more assists, adding five digs, three blocks and three kills. Freshman Kasey Campbell led the way with a match-high nine kills. Natalie Downes and Claire Salness (pictured) each produced eight kills with Salness also tabulating ten kills and three blocks.
 
As a team, NCU out-blocked the Wolves 8-2. Keri Schwarz led with five blocks for the Beacons including one solo effort. Megan Van Marter had a pair of blocks and hit .462 as she collected seven kills and just one error.
 
The backrow had another dominating performance as well, out-digging WWU 62-47. Sophomore Kayla Olsen had the team and match high with 18, followed closely by senior Haley Damian with 17.
 
Walla Walla (1-9, 0-5) was led on offense by Lauren Barlow, collecting team highs with six kills and two blocks. Lauren Bosler posted the only double-double of the night with ten assists and ten digs.
 
The Wolves return to action on Sunday afternoon, traveling to take on Corban University at 3:00 pm. NCU will be back in action again on Thursday, traveling for their second straight clash with Walla Walla at 7:00 pm
