ASHLAND, Ore. – All three relay teams hit new season lows this season as they Beacons competed at the Raider Invitational.
 
The 4x100m team of Joshua Chesnut, Antonio Campos-Perez, Matthew Jones, and Michael Andrews hit a 43.36 to take fifth place, shaving 5/100ths off the previous season low. Even better, the 4x400m team (Campos, Jones, Alec Duncan, Micah Jury) showed a marked improvement as they took second place in 3:27.60, three seconds faster than before.
 
Also posting a strong showing in Ashland was freshman Matt Jones who took over both the 100m and 200m school records. He took ninth place in the 100m in 11 second flat and has fifth in the 200m, coming in at 22.15 to break teammate Campos-Perez's record from 2016 by .09 seconds.
 
While most of the team was at the SOU Invitational, junior Christian Hackney joined his fellow female javelin throwers for a pair of meets in Southern California. At the Cal State LA Twilight he took third place with a throw of 54.83m. In the Shot Put, he posted NCU's best throw of the season at 11.40m. Then at the Brian Clay Invitational, Hackney took 13th place in an NCAA Division I heavy field, throwing 54.30m.
