Box Score ASHLAND, Ore.  – It wasn't the way they drew it up. The Northwest Christian University women's basketball team closed the regular season on a difficult note on Saturday, falling to No. 5 Southern Oregon University, 84-37.

The Beacons (17-10, 14-6 CCC) finish the year in fourth place in the CCC for the second consecutive season and they will play host to a first-round playoff game on Tuesday at 7:00 pm. The Raiders (24-3, 17-2) is battling with Eastern Oregon for the CCC championship and will close the year tomorrow.

Southern Oregon was in control from the get-go in this one, jumping out to a 25-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. NCU shot just 26% from the field for the contest, including a 3-for-20 night from distance. NCU did collect 9 assists on 12 field goals.

The Beacons were led by
Hanna Mack who finished with a full stat sheet, scoring 11 points, eight rebounds, two steals and one block, all team highs. Â
Conner Borigo added eight points and
Jenna Christenson scored seven.

The Raiders were led by Sydney Mullings, scoring 17 points. Autumn Durand added 16. SOU held a 45-39 rebounding advantage and collected 18 steals as they forced 32 Beacon turnovers.

The No. 4 seeded Beacons will now play host to No. 5 seed College of Idaho on Tuesday at 7:00 pm in the first round of the Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament.Â
