Depth Douses Deacons

EUGENE, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University men's basketball team went deep into the bench on Saturday night, taking care of New Hope Christian College, 100-58.

Leading by just ten points at the half, the Beacons (4-3) blew out the Deacons (1-12) over the final 20 minutes, scoring nearly as many points as NHCC did for the entire game. The Beacons shot for a strong 63% clip including a 14-for-27 night behind the arc.

Five players were in double-figures for the Beacons, led by 14 from Brock Rice who shot 4-for-8 from three-point range. Michael Loomis added 13 points along with a game-leading nine rebounds. Jordan Alexander (pictured) chipped in 12 points and four assists while Kenny Blackwell posted ten points and five assists.

Every suited player got into the game for NCU and the Beacons ended the night with a 44-0 margin in points off the bench. Austin Tyner scored 13 points in a reserve role while Tyrus Hosley came off the pine to score ten. Both players were 2-for-3 from downtown.
