Box Score LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University women's soccer team lost a 2-0 decision on Friday afternoon, falling to Eastern Oregon University on a pair of second-half goals.

The Mounties (9-3-2, 8-1-1 CCC) dominated the first half, holding a 12-2 advantage in shots but neither team was able to score. That changed in the 60th minute when a Chelsey Nicol direct kick found Cailin Koupal who put away the winner.

Later, EOU added an insurance goal when Taylor Boyer scored on a break away with just under three minutes remaining.

The Beacons (1-11, 1-9) collected just three shots-on-goal in the match with one apiece from
Libby Gregory,
Emily Miller, and
Britnee Joaquin. Spending 81 of the 90 minutes between the pipes, sophomore
Katie Hastings (pictured) collected seven saves without allowing a goal.

With the victory, Eastern Oregon keeps pace with Rocky Mountain, holding a one-point lead on the Bears heading into the final game of the regular season on Saturday.

The Beacons will close out their 2017 campaign at 7:00 pm Saturday night when they travel to Portland to take on Warner Pacific College.Â
