The Northwest Christian University men's basketball team put another streak to bed on Friday night, winning on the road against Warner Pacific College for the first time since 2010, 82-61. It was the biggest win ever for NCU over the Knights.

The Beacons shot 48% from the floor in the game and out-rebounded WPC 53-38. The Knights mustered a 30% clip from the field but were just 7-for-29 from three-point range.

The No. 12 ranked Beacons (13-3, 7-2 CCC) had another intimidating performance in the post from senior
Jay Mayernik, who scored 19 points while cleaning the glass for 21 rebounds. It was his second 20-plus rebounding night of the season and is tied for the third greatest boarding night in school history.

Also adding to the fun were
Brendyn Taylor and
Jack Hackman, scoring 12 points each.
Michael Loomis came off the bench to score nine while
Austin Tyner,
Malik Heptot, and
Kenny Blackwell all scored eight. Blackwell also contributed six assists.

Warner Pacific (6-11, 2-7) was led by Collin Malcolm and Zack Gonzales, scoring 13 points each. Malcolm also picked up a team-leading nine rebounds.

The Beacons, now riding a five-game winning streak, will look to close out the first half of the CCC schedule on a high note on Saturday, traveling to face Multnomah University at 7:30 p.m.
