Box Score EUGENE, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University volleyball team jumped into a three-way tie for sixth place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference on Saturday as they knocked off Walla Walla University in three sets, 25-11, 25-18, 25-16.

The Beacons (8-12, 6-8 CCC) hit .278 in the match and had eight service aces as they moved into a tie with Oregon Tech and Warner Pacific for what would be the sixth and final playoff spot were the season to end today. The Beacons are scheduled to face both OIT and WPC over the final three matches of the season.

NCU was led offensively by
Taylor Burnett, hitting .360 with ten kills.
Keri Schwarz added eight kills and
Cassidy Winters had seven, to go along with a team-high three blocks.
Laurie Salness posted a match-high 29 assists,
Sydney Rothenbush led the team with eleven digs and
Macy DuCoeur registered three aces to lead all players.

Walla Walla (1-17, 0-14 CCC) had four kills apiece from Emily Allen and Lauren Barlow. Barlow also tied for the match-high with 11 digs. Krista Schafer recorded nine assists in the losing effort.

The Beacons will remain at home next weekend, taking on Evergreen on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
