Beacons Swept by No. 22 Corban

SALEM, Ore. - The Northwest Christian University volleyball team was unable to muster the magic that led to a home victory over Corban last month, falling to the Warriors on the road in three sets, 25-16, 25-17, 25-17.

The Beacons (7-12, 5-8 CCC) held leads in both the second and third sets, but in both cases Corban went on significant runs to pull out the sweep. The Warriors (14-5, 10-3) hit .421 in the match, committing just eight attack errors.

NCU was led by senior Cassidy Winters, collecting a team high ten kills and three blocks while hitting .261. Sydney Rothenbush averaged five digs per set and Maci Beierle was just under a ten assist-per-set clip with 29. Taylor Burnett added eight kills and Haley Damian recorded a pair of service aces.

The Beacons will look to get back into the win column on Saturday night when they play host to Walla Walla University at 7:30 p.m.
